Decriminalise cannabis possession, says Corbyn
Jeremy Corbyn says people should not be prosecuted for possessing small amounts of cannabis.
The Labour leader also backed calls to make cannabis “readily available” for medicinal purposes. Mr Corbyn said: “Medical use of cannabis is good, and cannabis oil use is clearly beneficial to people and that should be decriminalised. Criminalising people for possession of small amounts of cannabis is not particularly a good idea and does lead to great difficulties, particularly for younger people in communities like mine.”
