Quit social media for your own good, MPS told
MPS should quit social media to protect their mental health, the parliamentary health watchdog has said. The Parliamentary Health and Wellbeing Service has said that, for politicians, being active on Twitter is the “equivalent of dipping their private parts in honey and exposing them to angry bees”.
The comments, which were reported in The Spectator, came after the service’s staff expressed concern about the mental health of MPS, who are increasingly criticised for their actions on Twitter. For some, this comes in the form of online abuse, while others are barraged by constituents attacking their activity.
