Police on Trump duty to be paid £50 allowance

Police officers travelling to London to deal with Donald Trump’s UK visit will be paid extra.

The Police Federation, which represents rank and file officers, revealed an additional allowance of £50 per night will be made available to those working away from home for the US president’s trip on July 13.

In order to qualify, officers must be away from their normal place of duty, required to stay overnight and ready for immediate deployment.
