May to announce £343m R&D funding at air show

Theresa May will announce an extra £343million in research and development funding today, including investment in new, “cleaner and greener” electric aircraft technology.

At the Farnborough International Airshow she will argue that a “common rule book” with the EU will protect supply chains for companies such as Bombardier, Rolls-royce and Airbus, and cement the UK’S position as a leading aerospace nation.
