Macrame shopping bag, £30 (the-acey.com)

-

Afew weeks ago in Majorca, I spied a woman sunbathing. Cast on the floor was her Louis Vuitton tote bag lying prone with Andrew Morton’s tome on Meghan Markle, splayed open on top. Personally I like something a bit more… low key for my lounger luggage. Baskets are all well and good, but I’ve lost interest after one too many overhead lockers have pulverised them out of shape. You need something more malleable. I’m not sure how you feel about macrame, but I’m all for it. It folds, it will go in your suitcase. I love this one here, by Maison Bengal, a lovely label supporting honest Bangladesh industry. I know, the dress is very good, too. Both are from The Acey – a gem of an etailer with a conscious twist – it only stocks labels with transparent production processes and an ethical outlook. It’s an excellent source for interesting, offthe-beaten-track independent labels. Humblebrag indeed.
