Tories woo Love Island viewers with bottle stunt
While the traditional Conservative core vote may not be the demographic most likely to tune in to Love Island every night, strategists at Conservative Campaign Headquarters (CCHQ) have attempted to capitalise on the popularity of the reality TV show.
Ahead of last night’s final, the Tories set up a special web page, on which they promoted a free giveaway of water bottles similar to those used by Love Island contestants. But their version says: “Don’t let Corbyn mug you off.”
CCHQ and ITV have been approached for comment. The Daily Telegraph understands all mentions of Love Island were removed from the website after a trademark row with ITV.
