Mother’s milk
SIR – I deeply sympathise with Kate Quilton (“On the breastfeeding battleground”, Health, July 30).
I fed my child on a train back in 1977. I was extremely discreet, and no one could possibly see anything, but there were a lot of offensive comments.
I responded by asking whether people would rather my child screamed throughout the journey – and they, as one, said no. I carried on. Erica Stary
