Sisters lose battle to contest father’s will

-

 Two women who claimed their father’s female friend was “only one of his romantic partners” have lost a court battle over his near £1million fortune.

Jane Redmond and Lynn Leberknight were ordered to pay £325,000 to Carole Taylor, 70, who they said was not due anything from James Redmond’s estate after his death from cancer in 2014. Although Ms Taylor lived with Mr Redmond for seven years, the relationship was not exclusive and he was “not the marrying type”, the sisters claimed.

Judge Stephen Hockman QC said Mr Redmond “clearly loved” Ms Taylor, and ruled that the sisters should pay Ms Taylor £325,000 as well as her legal costs, wiping out a substantial part of their inheritance.
