UK tax revenues stand at a third of GDP

In 2016, the majority of tax revenues came from income and profits. Taxes on them accounted for 11.9pc of GDP.

This burden has decreased from 12.2pc in 2010, while the revenue raised from taxes on goods and services has risen from 10pc to 10.7pc over the same period.
