Wife’s abuse of husband went unheeded by GPS
The perception men are not domestic abuse victims may have contributed to the death of a solicitor murdered by his wife, a report has found.
David Edwards, 51, was stabbed in the heart by his wife Sharon at their home in Chorley, Lancs, in 2015. She was jailed for life in 2016. Two GPS failed to ask Mr Edwards, 51, about previous injuries. The review by Chorley council concluded that the perception that men aren’t believed if they say they have been abused may have contributed to the death.
