Praise for victims of rapist jailed for 12 years

A sex assault victim who fled from her would-be rapist on to the M6 motorway has been praised by police for bringing him to justice.

Thomas Hampson, 18, from Birmingham, was jailed for 12 years on Friday for his attack on the woman, 29, and an earlier rape.

He was on bail accused of the rape of a 30-year-old when he attacked the woman on farmland near the M6.

Detective Inspector Westley Martin said: “I would like to thank both of these women for their resolve in bringing this dangerous man to justice.”
