Keep staff ‘mentally fit’ like England, says Duke

-

Businesses should learn a lesson from Gareth Southgate’s England football team by ensuring staff are “mentally fit” to work, the Duke of Cambridge has suggested.

The Duke said the best clubs in the world now hired sports psychologists, with the World Cup squad a “better team” because of it.

Launching a new scheme to support mental health in the workplace, he said: “If football managers want the best from their team, they need their players to be as mentally fit as they are physically.”

The Duke also announced Mental Health at Work, a free Uk-wide portal for employers and employees.
