Sex and the City star beaten in governor race
CYNTHIA NIXON, the Sex and the City star, has promised to keep fighting after she failed to become governor of New York.
The actress, who played Miranda Hobbes in the show, lost to Andrew Cuomo, who won his third Democratic Party nomination in a row. He easily held on to a commanding lead in the polls.
Nixon’s policies included legalising marijuana and abolishing a federal body in charge of identifying and removing undocumented immigrants from the US. She tweeted: “As long as New York remains the single most unequal state in the country, we will keep fighting.”
