Sex and the City star beaten in gover­nor race

CYN­THIA NIXON, the Sex and the City star, has promised to keep fight­ing af­ter she failed to be­come gover­nor of New York.

The ac­tress, who played Mi­randa Hobbes in the show, lost to An­drew Cuomo, who won his third Democratic Party nom­i­na­tion in a row. He eas­ily held on to a com­mand­ing lead in the polls.

Nixon’s poli­cies in­cluded le­gal­is­ing mar­i­juana and abol­ish­ing a fed­eral body in charge of iden­ti­fy­ing and re­mov­ing un­doc­u­mented im­mi­grants from the US. She tweeted: “As long as New York re­mains the sin­gle most un­equal state in the coun­try, we will keep fight­ing.”
