Visit to Palestine and Jerusalem were detailed in a Morning Star column he wrote. The trip’s sponsor remains unknown but he said he visited Bethlehem, Jericho and Ramallah.

Vienna, April-may 2007

Attended a conference on nuclear nonprolife­ration in the Austrian capital, writing that speakers highlighte­d the “mammoth” resources wasted in maintainin­g the nuclear deterrent. Who sponsored the trip is unclear.

Tunisia, February 2011

Invited to Tunis during the revolution to meet unions, political parties and government officials. Sponsor was thought to be the Global Peace and Unity Foundation.

Mexico, August 2011

In a Morning Star column, he said he went to see a special congress called by the Party of the Democratic Revolution. The sponsor is unknown.

Germany, December 2011

Attended fringe anti-nato conference held alongside the Internatio­nal Conference of Afghanista­n. Sponsor unknown.

Morocco, February 2014

Invited to Morocco by Western Sahara Campaign, which paid for him. The trip cost £600-700 per head, it said.
