Question marks

-

Britain’s foremost political broadcasters have embarked on a very public job interview to replace David Dimbleby on Question Time, as they undertake covert BBC screen tests with a live audience under conditions of secrecy. Emily Maitlis, Kirsty Wark, Samira Ahmed, main picture, and Nick Robinson, left, are on the shortlist for the Question Time job. They were each put through their own full-length filmed episode yesterday, facing real panellists and an audience of regular viewers. The job is widely expected to go to a woman, with David Dimbleby leaving after 25 years at the helm. After considering applications, the BBC has put each shortlisted presenter through a live show, inviting people who have previously applied for tickets to the show to a “special edition” at James Allen’s Girls’ School in Dulwich, south-east London, on Saturday. Further auditions continue today.
