Assange launches legal action against his hosts
Julian Assange is launching legal action against the government of Ecuador for “violating his freedoms” in its embassy in London.
The move comes several months after Ecuador cut off communications with the outside world for the Wikileaks founder, who has been living in the embassy for over six years, fearing extradition to the United States.
Baltasar Garzon, a Wikileaks lawyer, has arrived in Ecuador to launch the case, which is set to be heard in a domestic court next week.
