Two thirds back ban on conversion therapy
Almost two thirds of the public believe conversion therapy should be banned, according to a Yougov survey.
The poll, commissioned by the Ozanne Foundation, conducted among 1,670 adults, asked whether the controversial practice where people seek to “change someone’s sexual orientation, sexual behaviour or gender identity” should be outlawed.
It found that 62 per cent of the respondents agreed there should be a ban, with those not religiously affiliated being the most likely to adopt that position.
In contrast, 14 per cent of the participants believe conversion therapy should not be banned.
