MISSING STOPPER

-

QI have restored a fourdecanter tantalus. One of the decanters is missing the glass stopper. Where in the UK can I get one made?

JS, Nairobi Wilkinson, based in Kent, offers an extensive glassmake repair service and would be able to a new glass stopper for the decanter. Wilkinson says that ideally it would require a stopper from one of the other decanters

and, if possible, the decanter itself. The lead-crystal glass blank is blown and moulded and then hand cut and polished to match the stoppers of the other decanters. The stopper is then ground and polished to fit securely in the neck of the decanter. The whole process takes approximately eight to 10 weeks and prices start at £120 plus VAT.
