SIDIBE’S SO GRATEFUL TO BE BACK
MAMADY Sidibe believes his winning goal on Boxing Day for Sheffield Wednesday justified his decision not to hang up his boots because of injury.
Sidibe, 33, on loan from Stoke, has been plagued with injuries since 2009 and his winner against Bolton was his first goal since 2010.
The former Gillingham targetman and Mali international said:“I was not playing for two-and-a-half years, so for me to score against Bolton was special.
“To play was the most important thing, but to score as well and for us to win was fantastic. It was my first Boxing Day game for a very long time, so it was good.”
