DAVID Cotterill claims both he and Doncaster need to be back in the Championship next season.

The 25-year-old has been in impressive form for Rovers since joining on a free transfer in the summer, helping the club into a League One automatic promotion place.

And the former Bristol City winger wants a return to the second tier, he said: “Doncaster were in the Championship for four years so obviously they want to be back there.

“It’s the same place where I need to be.We’re in the same situation where we’ve dropped down a level and we’re desperate to be back where we belong.”
