CADDIS BIDS TO STAY IN STRACHAN’S SCOTLAND PLANS

BIRMINGHAM’S on-loan right-back Paul Caddis has backed the views of George Boyd that Scotland boss Gordon Strachan should keep looking in the Championship for new talent.

Hull’s Boyd told The Foot- ball League Paper last week that he felt the Championship was a division that Strachan should continue to tap into.

Strachan gave Boyd his international debut against Serbia and also called Caddis, left, into the squad for that match.

Caddis said:“I’ve had a good season and obviously playing every week in the Championship is a good level.

“There are a lot of play- ers in the Scottish squad who play in the Championship so it’s been good to be noticed.

“Gordon is trying to change the mentality of the Scotland team and if there is anyone to do that then he is the man to do it.

“He gave me my debut for Celtic and is one of the beat coaches I’ve worked with. His attention to detail is top quality. He has got passion and he will get that into the players.”
