MACDONALD CHALLENGE TO SWINDON YOUNGSTERS
SWINDON TOWN boss Kevin MacDonald has called on his youngsters to step up to the plate in the middle of his side’s current injury crisis. Six players will miss the final games of the League One season through injury: Troy Archibald-Henville, Miles Storey, Jay McEveley, Aaron Oakley and brothers Louis and Nathan Thompson.
MacDonald’s side are in the play-off mix as they bid for back-to-back promotions – and the former Aston Villa coach is tackling the crisis head on.
“The injuries are a big hindrance,” he said. “But we can’t do anything about that. It makes it harder but it gives someone else an opportunity and it’s up to them to grasp it.There’s some good players out but we can’t think about them.”
