NEIL EVANS – SWINDON

The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE ONE -

A TEAM running on empty, a small squad depleted by injury and an alarming drop in form, now a place in the play-offs looking increasingly unlikely. How on earth did it come to this?

First, Sheff Utd thoroughly deserved their win no argument there. I feared that Chris Morgan would have them up for this. They could have had eight in the first half alone.

We've not been the same since Paolo Di Canio left - proof if it be needed what a winner he was for us. The arrival of Kevin MacDonald looked promising but his change of tactics have been baffling.

The previous regime, after promising an orderly departure, proceeded to get out quicker than the Americans from Saigon.

That's where the blame lies, that's why we had a transfer embargo which meant no meaningful reinforcements and that may be ultimately why we will likely be in League One again next season.
