Moments after half-time Luke Freeman threatened to give the hosts the lead by charging down a clearance from Stech.
And Stevenage boss Graham Westley was forced to concede afterwards that his teams had deservedly finshed up second best
“In fairness there was a vast difference in the application of the two teams to win the game,” he said.
“There were too many moments where we didn’t show enough discipline and organisation, we didn’t show enough will to win and we didn’t show enough urgency.
“Promotion teams play a certain way, whatever it takes you keep it out of your net and whatever it takes you put it in theirs. We saw them do that today.
“It’s good to have these tests, we’ve got a few more to come and we need to produce better answers than
we did .”
