The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE ONE - By Roy Murray

BRENTFORD boss Uwe Rosler claims he has the firepower to secure an automatic promotion place after two of his strikers came up with the goods against lowly Portsmouth.

Portsmouth, who on Wednesday were finally taken over by Pompey Supporters' Trust, remain in the drop zone but boss Guy Whittingham said: “Hopefully we can turn the corner now.

“It’s everything that everyone at the club wanted for your own supporters to run it. We know there’s every chance we’re going to be in League Two next year, but we know from that that we can build on and push forward again.

“It was a spirited performance and it has been for the past 13, 14 games. This group of players have done fantastically well for us.

“In a way you’re just so disappointed for them because we came here wanting to win the game and we came here knowing

that it would be a tough game.”
