The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE TWO -

AFTER the ecstasy of last week’s promotion against Torquay, this weekend’s game always had the potential to be an anti-climax.

Having only lost once away all season we put in probably our worst performance under Martin Allen. We didn’t get going and failed to create any clear-cut chances. Our usual weapons, being the strength of our forwards and marauding full backs were nullified by a very good Cheltenham side, who could have scored more.

We failed to deal with the pace of Cheltenham's wingers and they dominated our midfield.

However this disappointing performance should not overshadow what has been a great season for us.

Allen has built an excellent team and with Port Vale’s dropped points hopefully we can secure the title in front of our own fans next weekend.

It will be a party, that’s for sure!
