The Football League Paper - - CHAMPIONSHIP -

SO, here we go again. The Palace rollercoaster is in full flow as per usual.

After a positive start to Ian Holloway’s tenure as manager, things haven’t been so great lately.

Having our goal difference obliterated by conceding 11 goals over five games – and all the while scoring none – our automatic promotion hopes are out of the window and we are clinging on to the play-offs by the skin of our teeth. Though we took the lead – our first goal in over eight hours of football – it was soon apparent that our defensive frailties had by no means disappeared.

The team just doesn’t seem to gel anymore. Selhurst was rocking in the sunshine, but there wasn’t much to boost the confidence that we still are genuine promotion contenders in the division.

It was never going to be easy trying to replace Dougie Freedman, but Holloway has divided opinion among the fans in a way that hasn’t been seen here for some time.
