ARCA’S SAD FAREWELL
MIDDLESBROUGH boss Tony Mowbray is sorry to see Julio Arca leave after the Argentine’s contract was terminated by mutual consent.
The 32-year-old midfielder was Boro’s longest-serving player with 185 appearances in seven years, but has played just one league and two cup matches this season after suffering a toe injury.
He returned to training briefly last month before further problems meant he was unable to regain full fitness.
“It’s a shame for Julio and for the club,” said Mowbray.
“We’d like to thank Julio for his years of service and we wish him well.”
