IT has been a tough season for Birmingham but manager Lee Clark has found cause for optimism in the emergence of some promising youngsters.

A year’s contract option on Callum Reilly has been taken up while the club have offered new deals to fellow Academy graduates Mitchell Hancox and Will Packwood.

“The emergence of so many young, talented players in and around the first team has been one of the highlights of my first year at the club,” he said.

“The fact that these new contracts have been offered proves that, as a club, we are committed to building for the future.”
