ELLIOTT’S STAYING AT ROBINS
IT’S been a bittersweet week for Cheltenham’s Steve Elliott – one minute he was dejected at the Robins’ exit in the play-off semi-final the next he was celebrating a new contract.
The 34-year-old defender was part of the side that fell to Northampton but has now inked a one-year extension.
“It was a no-brainer as soon as the gaffer told me he wanted me to stay,” said Elliott.“I’m near to my 150th appearance and that is over a three-year period, so I am really happy with that return.
“As a player you want to play as many games as you can and I’m sure the manager will always look to get the most out of you during that time too.”
