INMAN’S SET FOR CREWE RETURN
CREWE are poised to sign Scotland under-21 international midfielder Brad Inman after he rejected a new contract at Newcastle United.
Inman, 21, made 22 appearances on-loan for Crewe last season.
The two clubs are in talks to agree a compensation fee and the matter may have to be settled by a tribunal with Inman already training at Crewe.
Crewe boss Steve Davis said: “We’re having more talks with Newcastle about Brad.
“We’re not anxious, but we want to try to get it sorted out as quickly as possible because he gives us something different.
“He is training, although not with the main group. But he’s got quite a bit of work to do to get up to speed.
“I’m always hopeful we can sort something out, but these things can take time.
“It all depends on whether we can agree something with Newcastle over compensation.
“We don’t really want it to go to a tribunal, so hopefully we can agree something with Newcastle and he can be a Crewe player in the not-toodistant future.”
