DOUGIE’S DELIGHT AT JAY DEAL
BOLTON boss Dougie Freedman admits Jay Spearing was his top summer transfer target after snapping up the midfielder from Liverpool.
The 24-year-old won Wanderers’ player of the year award last season after impressing on loan and has signed a permanent fouryear deal.
“Jay was my top target,” said Freedman. “He's got the potential to be a very, very good player.
“What I like is that he comes in every day with the attitude to get better.
“That's what struck me about Jay – not only was he a fantastic football player with a great pedigree coming from Liverpool, but his hunger and desire to get better really stood out to me.”
