JASPER JOHNS may have been shown the door by Everton but the defender believes his time with the Toffees has earned him the respect of his new Sheffield United boss.

David Weir was the reserve-team manager with the Premier League outfit before the 18-year-old was released in the summer and snapped up by the Blades on a two-year deal.

“I know how he works and he knows what I am capable of,” said Johns.

“David is very relaxed which is good as it makes you relax in training when you are doing his drills.

“It is up to me to work hard at my game and prove myself to him.”
