JOE WON’T WALK OUT ON SKY BLUES

The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE TWO RESULTS -

COVENTRY City goalkeeper Joe Murphy has pledged his future to the crisis hit club.

With Coventry docked ten points and heading into liquidation, Murphy, Leon Clarke and Carl Baker have all been tipped to be offloaded to save City £1m in wages.

But Murphy dismissed that speculation after revealing manager Steven Pressley had called the experienced trio in for a meeting.

He said:“The gaffer had a meeting with myself, Carl and Leon after the news about liquidation and the penalty.

“Because we are the older lads he wanted to have a chat about helping to keep morale high among the youngersters. The club want to keep everybody here.

“It’s a tough time and a real downer. Everybody wanted to start the season on zero points and playing at The Ricoh.

“I feel sorry for the gaffer and the fans but we’ve just got to get on with it. The team spirit is great but we’ve got a massive mountain to climb.”
