DERRY JUMPS AT LIONS CHANCE
SHAUN Derry admits his family had as much of a say in his move to Millwall as him after he completed his switch from QPR.
The versatile 35-yearold has joined the Lions on a month-long loan deal after speaking with R’s boss Harry Redknapp about his chances of breaking into the first team at Loftus Road.
But once Millwall came calling Derry claims it was an easy decision.
“Millwall manager Steve Lomas contacted QPR and I had a chat with Harry and we both decided it was perhaps best for me to get some games,” said Derry,” who played 19 times in the Premier League last term.
“I was well up for it. I am absolutely chuffed to bits to be at Millwall.
“I'm here first and foremost to play football and to help the club get further up the league than they were last year.
“Also, the locality of it is great for me because I live just around the corner and the passion of the place and the supporters is fantastic. My wife’s family are all Millwall fans so they are delighted and so am I.”
