GREER WAS TOP TAR­GET

BRIGHTON boss Os­car Gar­cia says se­cur­ing the ser­vices of club cap­tain Gor­don Greer was his top pri­or­ity.

The 32-year-old defender, who skip­pered Al­bion to the League One ti­tle in 2011, has signed a deal which will keep him at the club un­til 2015.

And Gar­cia ad­mit­ted keep­ing Greer, who has played over 100 times for the club, was high on his list af­ter ar­riv­ing as Gus Poyet’s re­place­ment this sum­mer.

He said: “One of my tar­gets when I ar­rived was to keep Gor­don here be­cause he is the cap­tain and he’s a leader. For me, he is very im­por­tant this sea­son.”
