GREER WAS TOP TARGET

-

BRIGHTON boss Oscar Garcia says securing the services of club captain Gordon Greer was his top priority.

The 32-year-old defender, who skippered Albion to the League One title in 2011, has signed a deal which will keep him at the club until 2015.

And Garcia admitted keeping Greer, who has played over 100 times for the club, was high on his list after arriving as Gus Poyet’s replacement this summer.

He said: “One of my targets when I arrived was to keep Gordon here because he is the captain and he’s a leader. For me, he is very important this season.”
