EXPRESS START KEY FOR BURTON

-

IT WAS billed as a battle of two sides who will go all the way in the hunt for promotion from League Two and this encounter certainly didn’t disappoint in any way.

Burton were the better side by some distance in the first half, with full-back turned winger Chris Hussey doing the damage from the left.

But Graham Alexander’s new-look side showed they are made of stern stuff and he will perhaps consider himself a touch unlucky not to have pulled off a remarkable comeback after the Cod Army struck twice in the second period to ensure this encounter went right down to the wire.

Both managers were quick to brush off the importance of the result after the game, but expect both sides to be right up there come the end of the season.

Although silverware is not handed out in August, a win at Fleetwood will be a big morale-boost for Burton.
