PARKES HOPES FOR LIFT-OFF
BRISTOL ROVERS defender Tom Parkes says he has no regrets over swapping life in the Championship for the Memorial Stadium.
Parkes, 21, was signed for £100,000 from Leicester City almost a year ago.
The Rovers captain saw his side battling against relegation for the majority of last season but says:
“I've got no regrets at all about the decision I made. Things didn’t go to plan straight away, but when I look back on last season I can say that I enjoyed it.
“I’m the captain, but I look to our older players for experience. They also need help from us younger ones at times as well.”
Parkes admitted Rovers shaky start to the season is a concern but hopes the return of some experienced players will help.
“Getting the likes of Matt Gill and Matt Harrold back will be good for us,” he said.
