ZOLA’S GOT ONLY HALF A TEAM!

-

ANYONE else notice a pattern in Watford’s performances this season? Gianfranco Zola certainly has.

Zola, after beating Birmingham 1-0: “We had the better of it in the first half and should have taken more chances. In the secondhalf they came back strongly, we dropped a little physically and let them dominate.”

Zola, after a 3-1 win at Bristol Rovers: “The first half was very good but in the second half we let them gain too much ground, we dropped off them too much and the way we kept the ball wasn’t as good as in the first half.”

Zola, after five second-half goals saw the Hornets thrash Bournemouth 6-1: “In the first half we allowed them to play too much and it was trouble. In the second half we changed gears because in the first half we were playing under rhythm.”

Zola, after three second-half goals salvaged a 3-3 draw at Reading: “Can we challenge for promotion? If we play like we did in the second half yes, if we play like we did in the first half then it will be a struggle.”

Watford’s part-timers are still second in the league – if they ever bother to play well for both halves, somebody is going to kop it!
