SPENCER A LONG-TERM PROJECT
BRIAN Laws admits James Spencer has been a longterm target after snapping up the young Huddersfield striker on loan.
And the Scunthorpe boss has his eyes on securing a permanent deal once Spencer’s five-month stay with the Iron comes to an end.
Spencer is on his sixth loan spell away from the Terriers in three years and Laws is hoping that he fancies settling down at Glanford Park.
“We tried to bring him in last year when we was in League One but this gives us the opportunity to have a good look at him,” said Laws.
“His contract is up at the end of this season and if we can get a foothold on him then it might stand us in good stead for bringing him in on a longer basis.”
