MCCANN COMMITS TO POSH
GRANT McCann has cited missing key training sessions for Peterborough as the reason behind his decision to go on an international break, as he settles into his new player-coach role.
The 33-year-old midfielder, who has 39 caps for Northern Ireland, has committed himself fully to Darren Ferguson’s side as they seek an instant return to the Championship.
“I realised it was time to take a step back and let some of the younger lads come through,” he said.
“It’s not too much to do with my body, it’s missing the preparation for Peterborough games, and sitting on the bench.”
