HUNT DESERVES CHANGE OF LUCK

The Football League Paper - - CHAMPIONSHIP -

IF ever a lad deserves a bit of luck it’s Jack Hunt, who has just signed for Barnsley on loan from Crystal Palace.

He’s a great lad who worked so hard at Huddersfield. He then went to Palace in the summer, dreaming of making it in the top flight.

But before he could even kick a ball, he was cut down with a terrible broken ankle. You just felt sick for him. I very much hope this is the first step in his recuperation and that it ultimately leads young Jack back to the Premier League.

Obviously the jury is out on whether he’s good enough but I certainly rate him very highly. He’s a full-back very much in the mould of John Stones or Sam Byram – one of those who loves to bomb for- ward and make things happen.

You need that to make it in the Premier League, and he should be a great asset for Barnsley. And I’ll tell you something else – there’s not a better manager than Danny Wilson to get him back to his best.
