The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE TWO - By Tim Rowson

DANIEL Nardiello insists that strugling Bury are on the brink of something special after signing an 18-month deal with the Shakers.

Nardiello, 31, had been on loan at Gigg Lane since November but former club Rotherham cancelled his contract, allowing the striker to sign for the League Two side permanently.

“This is good for me and good for the club,” he said.“It gives me that added security. But it’s not just that, it’s being a part of something special that is happening at this club.

“There are a number of things here that excite me starting with the chairman Stewart Day. He’s obviously investing in the club, he’s already put a lot of work into the club and he has an aim of where he wants this club to be. And thankfully for me, he wants me to be a part of that.

“Secondly there is the manager David Flitcroft. I’ve only worked with him for a short while but he is one of the best managers I have worked with.

“He goes about things the right way and he wants to play football the right way. He’s very infectious on all the players, not just me.

“This club looks like it’s going places and I’m thrilled to be here and to be a part of it.”
