FOXES FACE BAT­TLE TO KEEP KASPER

LE­ICES­TER face a bat­tle to hang onto highly-rated goal­keeper Kasper Sch­me­ichel if they don’t win pro­mo­tion to the Pre­mier League.

The son of Manch­ester United leg­end Peter could leave in the sum­mer if the Cham­pi­onship lead­ers don’t stay the course.

The 27-year-old has been watched by a num­ber of Pre­mier League clubs this sea­son, in­clud­ing his fa­ther’s for­mer em­ploy­ers at Old Traf­ford.

While Arse­nal are another side who have had scouts look at the Dan­ish in­ter­na­tional a num­ber of times dur­ing the first half of the cam­paign.

Sch­me­ichel is seen as one of the bet­ter goal­keep­ers out­side of the Pre­mier League and Arsene Wenger is ex­pected to have his spies watch him again in the com­ing months.

New­cas­tle United are another club who have been mak­ing a care­ful note of his per­for­mances for the Cham­pi­onship high fly­ers.

AC Mi­lan are also thought to be keen to hand him a big chance to the keeper who has also played for Leeds and Manch­ester City. CRAIG Mack­ailSmith is the sub­ject of a sur­prise bid from for­mer club Peter­bor­ough to take him back to Lon­don Road.

Mack­ail-Smith has been out for the last ten months with a rup­tured Achilles and bro­ken an­kle and Posh want to help him back to fit­ness.
