FOXES FACE BATTLE TO KEEP KASPER
LEICESTER face a battle to hang onto highly-rated goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel if they don’t win promotion to the Premier League.
The son of Manchester United legend Peter could leave in the summer if the Championship leaders don’t stay the course.
The 27-year-old has been watched by a number of Premier League clubs this season, including his father’s former employers at Old Trafford.
While Arsenal are another side who have had scouts look at the Danish international a number of times during the first half of the campaign.
Schmeichel is seen as one of the better goalkeepers outside of the Premier League and Arsene Wenger is expected to have his spies watch him again in the coming months.
Newcastle United are another club who have been making a careful note of his performances for the Championship high flyers.
AC Milan are also thought to be keen to hand him a big chance to the keeper who has also played for Leeds and Manchester City. CRAIG MackailSmith is the subject of a surprise bid from former club Peterborough to take him back to London Road.
Mackail-Smith has been out for the last ten months with a ruptured Achilles and broken ankle and Posh want to help him back to fitness.
