SPENCER AIMS TO STAY A MAGPIE
JAMES Spencer says it is ‘weird’ to have cut his ties at Huddersfield permanently, but the striker is determined to make an impact at Notts County.
Spencer has signed for the Magpies until the end of the season following his release from the Terriers.
The 22-year-old has been at Town since he was nine but knew it was the right time to depart.
He said: “Now I have left permanently it is a bit weird, but this move makes up for it.
“I had to leave to play football. I was just sitting doing nothing, training for no game at the end of the week.”
Spencer only scored one goal in 16 appearances during his loan spell at Scunthorpe earlier in the season but he believes he can add goals during his spell with County.
“I’m playing for another contract at the end of the season and hopefully I can get the club out of the relegation zone,” he added.
“I’m going to try and prove what I can do and how I can get goals in this league, I have got a target of how many goals I want.”
