ROSS READY TO PLAY HIS PART

-

BURNLEY’S Ross Wallace is finally in the clear following a lengthy injury lay-off – but the winger knows he faces a battle on his hands to force his way back into the starting XI.

Wallace was named as an unused substitute in the Clarets’ thrilling 3-3 draw at Loftus Road last weekend after knee surgery had kept him out for five months.

The likes of Michael Kightly and Scott Arfield have stepped up in his absence and though Wallace does not begrudge the team’s success, he is itching to start contributing once again.

“The hardest thing was watching the team doing well, which was enjoyable but for me personally I’d like to be out there playing,” he said.

“I’m excited to get back, I want to get on the pitch with the boys because they’re playing so well at the moment.

“But Kights and Scott have done really well and it’s up to them to keep playing well, they’ve got the shirts at the minute.”
