The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE TWO -

CHESTERFIELD midfielder Jimmy Ryan has insisted Paul Cook’s title chasers can more than hold their own when things get physical.

Cook’s teams have a reputation as a neat ball playing side but Ryan believes they can also scrap when they need to.

Ryan said: “We’re not really a physical side but we’ve stood up to a lot of teams and a lot of physical sides and we’ve come out on top which shows the league that we can do the ugly side.

“It’s hard because we like to pass the ball around and get the ball on the floor, which is hard in this league. A lot of teams want to kick it long and play the conditions with physicality.”
