The Football League Paper - - CHAMPIONSHIP -

WHERE did that come from? Forest have been the Championship’s most formidable opponents since the turn of the year, their last league defeat coming way back in November.

But after Wednesday’s late defeat to Sheffield United in the FA Cup, it seems their confidence has been well and truly shattered.

Disorganised, sluggish, haphazard – there simply aren’t enough adjectives to describe their awful first half performance, though Billy Davies will have found some, probably peppered with a few Glaswegian niceties.

The Scot will point to injuries, especially the lack of playmaker Andy Reid, but he will have a job lifting spirits after this. Seasons have collapsed over far less.

As for Burnley, they just keep confounding the critics. They look the complete side and in Kieran Trippier have a star in the making.
