NO ROOM FOR SLIP UPS, SAYS COTTERILL
HAVING hauled Bristol City out of the League One drop zone, manager Steve Cotterill is determined to see them stay well clear of it.
Cotterill took charge in December, when the Robins were in the bottom four, and has led an improvement in form with just one defeat in their last five games.
However, City headed into the weekend four places but just one point clear of the drop zone and the manager knows that if their concentration slips they will be right back in trouble.
“We have worked hard to get out of the bottom four and it is important we don’t end up back in it,” said Cotterill.
“I’ve talked about that with the boys and I think they share my mentality. We’re looking forward, rather than back, and our intention has to be to climb the table.
“We’ve looked back at what we’ve achieved over the last month or so and being out of the bottom four is a big step in the right direction.
“As soon as we get to a mid-table position, we can look at what the rest of the season might bring. But in the short-term, the challenge is to get away from that bottom four.”
