ROTHERHAM assistant manager Paul Raynor says the club’s ability to identify loanees has been a major factor in their fine form.

James Tavernier and Haris Vuckic, who both joined from Newcastle in November, are just two of the loan players who have impressed with the promotion contenders.

And Raynor says the environment and first-team opportunities at the club appeal to loan signings.

“As soon as James joined us he said he wanted to stop until the end of the season,” he said.“He’d had loan spells before for a month here and a month there but you can’t really get to know your teammates like that.

“This is the first time he’s been on a loan spell and played every week and played very, very well.

“Miles Addison has come in for games and done very well, Tom Hitchcock and Haris have scored goals and Richie Smallwood is fundamental to how we are playing at the moment.

“They’ve all played a massive part in what we are trying to do and they’ve integrated into the squad fantastically well.”
